The Alinha Placement Tool began with a practical problem: how do you understand where a learner should begin when the usual school record does not tell the whole story, or does not exist at all?

Why AlinhaPT

Learners can arrive in Portugal from different countries, curricula, homeschooling backgrounds, or interrupted educational pathways. Conventional age or grade labels do not always describe what they actually know.

The Alinha Placement Tool is designed to gather evidence directly, map it to competencies, and produce a report that can be inspected by families and professionals.

Our product principles

Transparency: show the questions and response evidence behind conclusions.
Alignment: connect demonstrated knowledge to Portugal's National Curriculum, especially the Aprendizagens Essenciais.

Current stage

The Alinha Placement Tool is currently in private beta development. Assessment content, reporting, evaluator review, accessibility, and curriculum alignment systems are being developed and validated together.
