Why AlinhaPT
Learners may enter the Portuguese education system from different countries, curricula, home education backgrounds, or interrupted educational pathways. Age, prior grade designation, and conventional records do not always provide a sufficient representation of demonstrated attainment.
The Alinha Placement Tool is designed to assess demonstrated competencies, align evidence with Portugal's National Curriculum, and produce a transparent report that can be reviewed by families, schools, and qualified professionals.
Our product principles

- Alignment: demonstrated competencies should be interpreted in relation to Portugal's National Curriculum and the relevant Aprendizagens Essenciais.

- Portugal first: the initial methodology is being developed specifically for the Portuguese educational context before international adaptation.
Current stage
The Alinha Placement Tool is currently undergoing private beta validation. Assessment content, reporting, evaluator review, accessibility, and curricular alignment are being evaluated together to support methodological consistency and evidentiary integrity.
